NO DIRECTION HOME FESTIVAL, CHANNEL 4 VIDEO PLAY AND NEW T-SHIRTS!

Hola!

Catching up…

It has been a jam-packed month or so, from the phenomenal Anti-Capitalist Road Show with some real folk heavy weights, to some crazy fun shows with Josie Long and friends as we rolled out the minibus for ARTour II, this time hitting Sheffield, London, Loughborough and Derby. Thanks to all those who supported us on the road to equality.

A very special thank you must be said to those who came out to see me and Josie at the Guildhall, Leicester last week. It was truly one of the loveliest gigs I’ve ever done and really reinvigorated me in these tough times we are all having, so thank you for all the support and kind words.

Acting up…

You may remember me mentioning that in April I made a video with the talented and award winning director Chris Shepherd. The video, for Rise, will be launched at XOYO in London on the 11th of June, which I am tremendously excited about. As if that wasn’t cool enough… it’s also going to be screened on Channel 4 as part of Random Acts in the very near future! Stay tuned to find out exactly when you can catch me angrily swinging my guitar and heralding the revolution from a demolition site in Liverpool!

Coming up…

Next weekend, I’ll also be joining the comedians once again (even though, you know, I’M NOT FUNNY) for No Direction Home festival on the 8th of June. Get tickets here. Massive insane super mega amounts of thanks to the wonderful Mr. Robin Ince for putting me onto his show there. The next day on June 9th I’ll be jetting off (or, more accurately, rumbling along) to the Women Chainmaker’s festival in the West Midlands to play in solidarity with the right to work movement, and to remember the women’s fight led by Mary Macarthur. Dressing up…

After finally shifting those bright red ones I insisted on getting the storming success of the Tell Me A Story t-shirts we had made last year, I’m thrilled to present our new shirts, which will be available to order from this site very soon. These new beautiful black ones bear the Inspector Morse lyric, “be strong, be resilient…” so it’s partly a social experiment to see if I can tempt you to wear ‘fucking’ on a t-shirt. We’ll soon find out! The tees will be up for sale next week - and all the cool kids will be wearing them! ;-)

On the horizon…

To be announced in the next few weeks will be some awesome gigs for the autumn… some airplay on BBC Radio 3… some cool interview stuff in magazines and a newspaper… and a very special gig in September (although some of the keener among you will probably already know about that!)

Before I sign off, I hope everyone reading this is well and enjoyed that burst of sunshine. For now the rain and cold seem to have settled back in, for like Jeremy Hunt, every time you think they really must have gone they slink disappointingly back into view. Still, I remain ever the optimist for the sunshine to return. Oh, and lest I forget - Happy Jubilee, everyone. ;-)
